Who knew all that time you spend trolling YouTube for videos of cats playing the piano is actually making you smarter? New research from the University of California, Los Angeles reports that surfing the Internet can be beneficial to brain health. Scientists scanned the brains of middle-aged and older first-time Internet users, and the results were surprising: After surfing the web for just one hour a day for a week, participants showed signs of enhanced neural stimulation in parts of the brain that control decision making and reasoning. Guess that means it’s time to get mom blogging.
