The Company requests information from each practitioner listed, including license information (where applicable) and the state from which the license was granted, as well as the school or program attended and the degree or certificate that was awarded by the educational institution or program attended by the practitioner. The Company does not check the credentials provided, and not all of the practitioners listed in the Health Practitioner Directory have supplied such information. State licensing is not available for all modalities of integrative medicine. For example, reiki is not licensed anywhere in the U.S., and at this time there is no national accrediting agency; and naturopathic medicine practitioners are licensed in only some states, although many naturopaths are licensed in one state while practicing in another. Education requirement differ among schools. For example, some naturopaths receive four years of instruction and fulfill residency requirements, while others receive certificates from distance-learning institutions.
